The Winter Retreat is On!
Following 2025's Fall Retreat a number of us flirted with the idea of running a winter retreat before the beginning of Lent. After some deliberation the MMR Team will host our first Winter Retreat in 2026! Plan to join us on the 30th of January to the 1st of February. For more details, please see the information below!
LOCATION
The Clement Homestead
We will be staying on Del Clement's family property located at 60 Lanfear Rd.
Stony Creek, NY 12878
With 60 acres and an 8-acre pond to explore and trails throughout we'll have a great opportunity to unwind and reconnect in the Southern Adirondacks. However, be prepared for winter conditions that could reach below freezing temperatures during the day and below 0 degrees Fahrenheit at night.
DATE
January 30th - February 1st, 2025
Feel free to arrive at any time prior to 4pm on the 30th of January. The Akathist, "Glory to God for All Things," will begin at 5pm on Friday followed by Lentil & Barley Pilaf with Mushrooms.
EVENTS
Hiking, Fishing & More
Besides our regular cycle of services and campfire discusssions, on Saturday we plan to hike Hadley Mountain located roughly 10 to 15 minutes from the Homestead. The 8-acre pond on the property offers a great opportunity to ice fish for blue gills, large and small mouth bass, and bull heads. On Sunday we will pack up our gear and cook some chili over the fire to serve Christ the Savior's Coffee Hour in Ballston Lake, NY after Divine Liturgy.

Winter Packing & Safety
Winter camping can be an absolute blast! However, as one may expect, the key to having a good time is staying warm. This retreat will require more packing and planning than our Fall retreat. Please be sure to visit our Packing List page below to ensure that you know what to expect and are properly prepared for winter in the Adirondacks.
